It’s time to get familiar with your 6th sense - and no, we’re not talking about next-level intuition. Chef Wallace Wong leverages the senses of the tongue to create an umami-focused dish that will wow your taste buds.

His Sweet Soy Braised Beef features daikon and roasted kabocha squash, and is paired with a gingery, pillowy bed of jasmine rice with shelled edamame. This dish is an umami delight with a warm and bright twist!

Ingredients: Beef chuck, Jasmine rice, Water, Apple sauce (apples, water), Kabocha squash, Daikon radish, Soy sauce (water, soybeans, wheat, salt, brewing starter), Sugar (granulated sugar), Mirin (glucose syrup, alcohol rice, corn syrup, salt), Edamame, Ginger, Garlic, Sesame oil, Green onion, Shiitake mushroom, Crispy shallot (canola oil, wheat flour, salt), Beef bouillon (glucose solids, cornstarch, salt, hydrolyzed corn protein, flavour, yeast extract, beef powder, dehydrated red wine, canola oil, tomato powder, onion powder, mustard powder, caramel powder, spices, sulphites), Canola oil, Black sesame seeds, White sesame seeds, Kosher salt, Spices.

Contains: Wheat, Soy, Mustard, Sesame seeds, Sulphites.

Cooking Instructions

  1. In a large non-stick pan, add the contents of the beef and vegetable and sauce pouch with ⅓ cup of water. Cook for 8-9 min, stirring occasionally until warmed through. 
  2. Meanwhile, in a second large non-stick pan, add the contents of the rice pouch with 3-5 tbsp of water and cook over medium high heat for 4-5 min, stirring occasionally until warmed through.
  3. Plate the beef alongside the edamame rice. 
  4. Garnish with the shallot and sesame seed mix. Enjoy!
