Can I Pause, Skip, or Cancel My SPATULA Subscription? (You Don't Even Need One)
You don't have to subscribe
Unlike many meal kit services that require a subscription to place your first order, SPATULA can be ordered one-time, no recurring commitment at all. Subscribing is there for people who want it, not a requirement to access the menu.
Why subscribe anyway
Subscribing comes with real upside beyond convenience: box discounts on every delivery, plus surprise perks dropped into subscriber boxes from time to time. It's the better option if you know you'll order regularly, one-time orders are for everyone else.
Pause, skip, or cancel: what each one actually does
- Pause puts your account fully on hold. You are not billed at all until you choose to reactivate, this isn't a "skip and get charged again in one week" pause, it stops billing entirely.
- Skip skips exactly one upcoming delivery, your subscription then resumes on its normal schedule the week after.
- Cancel ends your subscription completely. You can always start a new one later.
All three are self-serve through your account, unlike services that require you to email support and wait for a response just to stop being charged.
How the billing cycle works
Billing runs on Sundays, and delivery follows on Tuesday. To help you stay ahead of it, we send reminder emails the Tuesday and Saturday before your next billing date, use those as your cue to update your box, skip, pause, or cancel before the cutoff.
The cutoff
Any change, pausing, skipping, canceling, or editing your box, needs to be made before 9:00 PM ET on the Sunday before your delivery. After that, the order is already in motion for that cycle.
If you miss the cutoff, email hello@spatulafoods.com immediately and we'll assist. Reaching out right away gives us the best chance to help before your order ships.
Delivery frequency
You can choose delivery every 1, 2, or 3 weeks. If you're looking for a longer interval than that, reach out to us directly and we'll see what we can do.
The short version
You're never required to subscribe, one-time orders are always available. If you do subscribe, you get box discounts and occasional perks, plus full control to pause (no billing until you reactivate), skip one delivery, or cancel anytime through your account. Just make changes before 9:00 PM ET the Sunday before your Tuesday delivery, or email us right away if you miss it.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to subscribe to order from SPATULA?
No. One-time orders are available anytime, and no subscription is required.
What's the difference between pausing and skipping?
Pausing puts your account fully on hold with no billing until you reactivate. Skipping only skips one upcoming delivery, then your subscription resumes normally.
Will I be billed while my subscription is paused?
No. A true pause stops billing completely until you choose to reactivate.
When is the cutoff to change my subscription?
The cutoff is 9:00 PM ET on the Sunday before your Tuesday delivery. Billing happens Sunday, so subscription changes need to be made before the cutoff.
What if I miss the cutoff?
Email hello@spatulafoods.com right away, and we'll do what we can to help before your order ships.
How often can I get deliveries?
Subscriptions can be delivered every 1, 2, or 3 weeks by default. For a longer interval, contact us directly.
