How to filter our menu for dietary restrictions
SPATULA doesn't run a separate "diet menu." Instead, every dish is tagged by what it's made with and without, and you filter the full menu down to what you need. Since dishes rotate over time, filtering by tag is more reliable than assuming any one dish qualifies. Available filters:
- Made without gluten
- Made without dairy
- Made without nuts or peanuts
- Made without sesame seed
- Low sodium
- Keto or low carb
- Made with halal ingredients
How to find low-sodium meals in Toronto: open the SPATULA menu and select the "low sodium" filter, it narrows the full rotating menu down to dishes built for a reduced-sodium diet, no need to check every product page individually.
How to find halal meals in Toronto: use the "made with halal ingredients" filter on the SPATULA menu to see current dishes made with halal proteins, delivered flash-frozen across the GTA.
Not certified gluten-free, but not casual about it either
SPATULA is not a certified gluten-free or allergen-free facility. Dishes are made in a working kitchen that handles a wide range of ingredients across many recipes, so a "made without gluten" tag means gluten wasn't used in that recipe, not that the facility is a dedicated allergen-free environment.
That said, the culinary team follows real handling steps to limit cross-contact, not just an ingredient list check:
- Staff training. Kitchen staff are trained specifically on cross-contact risk and how to handle allergen-tagged dishes, not just general food safety.
- Batch and station separation. Allergen-tagged dishes are prepped in separate batches or at separate stations from dishes containing that allergen, rather than side by side on the same line.
Safety disclaimer
While we take cross-contact seriously, we are not a dedicated allergen-free facility. Please contact us directly if you have severe or anaphylactic allergies.
Halal availability
While we prioritize halal proteins across the menu, not every dish is halal-certified. Use the "made with halal ingredients" filter to identify which current dishes qualify, rather than assuming the full menu is halal.
The short version
Filter by tag to find gluten-free, dairy-free, nut-free, sesame-free, low-sodium, keto, or halal-friendly meals in Toronto. Staff training and batch separation reduce cross-contact risk, but we're not certified allergen-free, so contact us directly for severe or anaphylactic allergies.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does SPATULA have vegetarian options?
Yes. Vegetarian options depend on the current rotating menu. Use the ingredient tags and filters to see which vegetarian dishes are currently available.
Is SPATULA safe for a nut allergy?
Dishes tagged "made without nuts" do not use nuts as an ingredient and are prepared by staff trained in cross-contact handling. However, SPATULA is not a dedicated nut-free facility. If you have a severe nut allergy, contact us directly before ordering so we can help you determine which options are appropriate.
Is SPATULA's whole menu halal?
No. Not every SPATULA dish is halal-certified. We prioritize halal proteins where possible, and you can use the "made with halal ingredients" filter to find the current options available.
